A blind flange closes a line, a nozzle or a manway with a solid disc and a bolted joint. Because it can be unbolted rather than cut, it is the standard way to provide future tie-in points, isolation for maintenance and hydrotest boundaries.
Standard blind (blank disc), spectacle blind (two discs linked so the line can be switched open or closed), and paddle blind for temporary isolation.
Thickness increases with pressure class; at Class 900 and above the disc is substantially heavier than a same-size slip-on.
RF standard, with FF for low pressure, MFM and TG where gasket extrusion is a concern, and RJ for high-pressure gas service.

Long-hub WN flange butt-welded to pipe, for high pressure and cyclic service.
Specifications
Rotating loose flange used with a stub end — easy bolt-hole alignment and cheap to replace.
Specifications
Plate flange slipped over the pipe and fillet-welded both sides — the economical standard flange.
