| Welding | Single external fillet weld |
| Bore | Socket machined to the ordered pipe outside diameter |
The socket weld flange lets the pipe sit in a recess and be welded on the outside only. For small-bore high-pressure lines where there is no room to weld inside, and where distortion must stay minimal, this is the practical connection.
Socket depth and bore are machined so the pipe stops at the correct depth, leaving the specified expansion gap for welding.
Single external fillet weld keeps heat input low and distortion small — important on instrument and sample lines.
RF for general service, MFM where gasket blow-out is a risk, TG for toxic or flammable media, RJ for Class 900 and above.

Long-hub WN flange butt-welded to pipe, for high pressure and cyclic service.
Specifications
Rotating loose flange used with a stub end — easy bolt-hole alignment and cheap to replace.
Specifications
Plate flange slipped over the pipe and fillet-welded both sides — the economical standard flange.
