| Side range | 40–1000 mm |
|---|---|
| Length | 1–18 m random, or fixed length |
| Standards | GB/T 908-2019, GB/T 3077, GB/T 700, ASTM A388 (UT), SEP 1921 |
| Heat treatment | Normalised, annealed, quenched and tempered |
| Delivery state | Black, ground, turned, or machined to drawing |
| Testing | UT to GB/T 6402 level I–III, mechanical properties per heat |
Forged square bar is bought for its core soundness. Where a rolled billet can carry centreline segregation, a forged block with a ratio of 4:1 or better gives a uniform structure that behaves the same at the centre as at the surface when it is machined into a die insert or a tool blank.
Grain size 6 or finer, hydrogen ≤2.0 ppm, inclusion ratings ≤2.0 on controlled grades.
Mechanical properties reported per heat: for example 42CrMo at ≥1080 MPa tensile, ≥930 MPa yield, ≥63 J impact.
Side 40–1000 mm, length 1–18 m or cut to length; single pieces up to 100 t on special order.
Black tolerance −0/+3 to −0/+5 mm; machined −0/+2 mm; diagonal difference ≤3% of nominal side.

Seamless rolled rings up to 7.5 m outside diameter, IT7–IT9 tolerance.
