Anyone can quote a grade. The difference is whether the certificate, the heat number and the part in the crate agree — and whether you find out before or after installation.
We buy to the UNS number, not to a trade name. Chemistry, grain size and heat treatment are checked against the mill certificate before the billet reaches the hammer.
Flanges and fittings are forged so the grain flow follows the part. No shrinkage porosity in the pressure boundary, and Charpy and tensile results that hold at low temperature.
Optical emission spectrometry, carbon–sulphur analysis, tensile and impact testing, hardness and metallography are carried out on site, so a non-conformance is found before shipment, not at your site.
EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates, dimensional and PMI reports, heat-number mapping and packing lists are issued as standard — with third-party witness at SGS, BV or TUV when the project asks for it.
